Leupold RX 750
Cumulative Review Score: 71(16)
The Leupold RX 750 rangefinder scored an unimpressive 71 out of 16 useful reviews. While not a large number of reviews it still provides an overview of what users of this model think. While there were a fair amount of owner’s that were happy with their purchase, there were also several owners that were severely disappointed with this Leupold rangefinder. Those that enjoyed this model mentioned its versatility, lightweight, and compact size. Reviewers who complained about the RX 750 voiced their disapproval about: too many features making for complicated use, value for the money, and difficult low light ranging. Some reviewers also felt that the angle compensation feature wasn’t necessary as the angle compensated reading seldom varied much from standard reading during most hunting type situations.
Owner’s Manual:
You really can do a lot with this rangefinder. Leupold’s TBR, True Ballistic Range, is a relatively complex feature. With that said you do have more options than probably any other brand of hunting range finders, but be prepared to spend some time with this unit to get it figured out and set how you want. One important aspect of the Bow mode is that you can only get angle compensated readings out to 60 yards and then distance is displayed in line of sight yardage only, the rifle mode however will give angle compensated reading out to 800 yards.

LRR Thoughts:
You might wonder why this model scored a 71 even though it is very similar to the Leupold RX 600 which scored an impressive 94. There could be a variety of reasons; however, the RX – 750 is about $80 dollars more than its less expensive sibling. Also, the model 750 has a lot more features, which you would think would be a plus; however, several users found this to make the device more complicated and did not see the benefit of some of the extra features. Furthermore, this model is approaching the $300 dollar mark, has many features and carries the Leupold name; it is fair to say that expectations were high for this unit. This model might be as guilty of not leaving up to expectations as it is of not performing well. On the other hand the Leupold RX 600 is marketed as a plain Jane, entry level, very few features, budget rangefinder that sells for under $200. The entry level rangefinder market is pretty soft right now with some weak models, so the model 600 was able to shine in that market, while the Leupold RX 750 struggled with a higher price tag, being more complicated to use, and stiffer competition in the mid level rangefinder market. See which rangefinder got the nod as top rangefinder in the dual purpose class.
