Redfield recently entered the rangefinder market with their new Raider series of Redfield rangefinder.  This is rangefinder is pretty compact at only 3.7 inches long and remarkably only weighs 5 oz with the battery.  It has a maximum distance of 550 yards, as with all rangefinders this maximum distance is calculated on highly reflective objects under ideal conditions.  The Redfield Raider rangefinder has 6x magnification and the focus is adjustable, unlike some entry level rangefinders. User reviews have been extremely positive for this new rangefinder, the Redfield Raider Rangefinder received much praise for its compact size, easy to read display, ease of operation, and value for the money.

Owner’s Manual:
Currently the Raider's manual is only a one page specification sheet; however, from that it looks like the unit is capable of measuring in yards or meters, but that will have to be confirmed later to make sure it is not available in separate yards and meter versions like some Leica rangefinders.  The new Redfield Raider rangefinder does have a scan mode, but doesn’t appear to have an angle compensation mode, or any sort of target priority modes.  To get a basic idea of the size of this unit and how it displays readings you can watch a short video on the Redfield rangefinder website click here.
