Simmons Rangefinder - Reviews

A Simmons laser rangefinder isn't an unexpected entry to the rangefinder market; however, Simmons is probably best known for producing budget rifle scopes. Simmons has been expanding their line of optics to include spotting scopes, binoculars, trail cameras, and now laser rangefinders. Currently the Simmons website only list one model of rangefinder, the LRF 600, but another model the LRF 400 is widely available online.

Simmons Vertical RangefinderSimmons Laser RangefinderSimmons LRF 600 - This Simmons vertical rangefinder has a maximum ranging distance of 600 yards (as the name would imply); however as with any rangefinder expect the distance this unit can read anything but a highly reflective building to be significantly less. Simmons states that this unit will read trees out to about 400 yards and deer out to around 200 yards. The Simmons LRF 600 rangefinder uses a 9 volt battery, and is available with either a black or camo finish. The unit is just over 4 inches long, a tad under 2 inches wide, and weighs 7.7oz.

Simmons LRF 400Simmons LRF 400 - This Simmons horizontal rangefinder is held like a pair of binoculars and roughly resembles the look of a Bushnell 450 Sport, because the LRF 400 rangefinder is not currently listed on the Simmons website, Laser Rangefinder Review is not certain if Simmons laser rangefinder model has been discontinued or has just not been added to their website. Therefore, obtaining anything but second hand specifications of this model is difficult if not impossible, again think Bushnell Sport 450 for an idea of what we are talking about. While these little units are currently widely available online, there aren't many user reviews on them so at this time it would probably be wiser to go with a more proven design as the budget level rangefinder category is quite competitive.
